Eveline Silliker, age 93, of Port Elgin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Cambridge, NS, she was a daughter of the late Roderick and Cassie (Reese) Reeves. Eveline was a founding member of PEDVAC, a faithful member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Port Elgin, and the East Westmorland Senior's Club. Eveline loved her family and her home. Eveline will be sadly missed by a son Russell "Junior" (Brenda), Upper Cape, NB; sister Florence Murphy, Berwick, NS; granddaughter Johannah (Trevor) MacPherson, Milton, ON; grandsons Neil (Lynn) Silliker, John Silliker and Jamie (Lisa) Barkley; eight great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Special niece Linda Oulton and friend Carol Green gave Eveline much pleasure. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia in 1960 and husband Russell in 1971.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (538-2241) where visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 2 pm, William Drysdale DLM officiating. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery.
