Robert passed away November 5, 2010 with family by his side at the golden age of 94 years. He is predeceased by his mother Katherine; father John; daughter Audrey and son-in-law Ron Inverarity; sister Sarah Brown; brothers-in-law Earl, Algy, Ed, and Dave and sister-in-law Gladys. Robert is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughter Pearl (Don) Schlosser; son Gerry (Helen) and daughter Roberta (Neil) Pilsner; grandchildren Shelly (Kevin Myers), Dion (Laurie) Schlosser, Christopher (Tamara) Bender, Christina (Curtis) Potts, Tammy (Cory) Cozart, Les (Francine) Inverarity and Cody Pilsner (Robert’s Birthday Buddy October 23rd); great-grandchildren Brenden, Kerry, Taylor, Breanna, Kiara, Alexander, Makenna, Christopher, Mathew, Andrea and Chaydin; great-great-grandchildren Isabella and Brooklynn; sisters Katie Zimmerman, Irene Deckert and Pearl Solberg; brother Gordon Bender; step-sister Sandra Marchigiano and many nieces and nephews. Dad lived a long, fulfilled life. He had many accomplishments, and never looked back. He was a man of many words, ask any one who knew him, they could tell you. If you stopped for coffee or met him on the street you never had to worry about a lull in the conversation as dad could talk enough for both of you. Dad was a gracious host, he loved company, the coffee pot (or something stronger) was always on and goodies were always offered. He worked hard all his life, he was a strong believer in keeping active. He had many passions in life, his wife and dance mate of 67 years Mary, farming - first at Ernfold then at Keeler. The farm at Keeler was where Dad and Mom raised their family. There was a lot of hard work but also lots of fun and laughter. We have many cherished memories. They moved to Moose Jaw when they semi-retired from farming. He purchased Imperial Apartment Block which he ran for over 40 years. He loved that until the day he passed, treating most of the renters like family. Dad was one of the early members of the Sukanen Ship Museum, where he was a member for 43 years. He would run the thrashing machine crew during the Thrashing Bee, helping run the thrashing machine right up to the age of 90. He played a large role in developing the museum and also donated old machinery. He loved to travel. Hawaii was his #1 destination and remained his favourite right to the end. He loved dancing all his life. He was a member of Danceland at Manitou Beach. He even bought a cabin at Manitou just so they could dance every weekend. Sometimes when you are up on the dance floor and you feel a breeze, don’t be surprised it could be our Dad dancing up a storm beside you. Dad save one for us. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 3:00 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. At a later date a Service of Remembrance will also be held at the Sukanen Ship Museum. In lieu of flowers a few of dad’s favourite charities were, The Salvation Army, The Humane Society and The Sukanen Ship Museum. In living memory of Robert, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.
