DORCHESTER: Doris MacDonald, age 82, of Dorchester, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Born in Silverdale, England, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Higgenbottom) Jones. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be dearly missed by daughters, Carrolyn (Gary) Smith, Moncton, Gloria (Late Gil) Foley,Tweed, ON; son Keith (Lucille) MacDonald, Dorchester; daughter Jane (George) Gailbraith of Indiana. Eight grandchildren, Steven, Lisa, Anthony, Jason, Duane, Jennifer, Melanie, Deven, and seven great grandchildren; sister Jean Bailey, England. Predeceased by husband Elmer in 2001 and granddaughter Ashley in 2002; two sisters, Mary and Marjorie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 11 am. Burial will follow in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery.
