Robert Scopie
The death of Robert "Bob" Scopie, age 78, of Sackville and formerly of Amherst, occurred suddenly at the Dr. George L. DuMont Hospital, Moncton on Sunday, December 5, 2010.
Born in River Hebert, he was a son of Isabel (Poplar) Scopie and the late Michael Scopie
Bob served in the Canadian Army and is a member of the Amherst Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica and was a good dancer.
Bob will be sadly missed by his daughters, Jean Scopie and Pamela (Steve MacLeod) Brown, both of River Hebert; a son, Robert Jr, Etobicoke, ON; 6 grandchildren, Dane, Zachery, Jordon, Thomas, Matthew and Kayla; brothers, Dean (Lorna) and David (Monica); sisters, Anne-Marie (Jim) Grey and June (Stan Williams) ; ex-wives Elizabeth (Hyden) Scopie and Vina McGraw, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael, and brothers, Donald and John.
Bob's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777) from where a time of visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 11 am, Rev. Clarence Clarke officiating. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert. www.furlongjones.ca
