Kathleen Rae

PICTOU - Kathleen "Kay" Elizabeth Rae, 79, of Pictou, passed away December 13, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Scotch Hill, she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Sarson) Rae.
Kay was a resident of Pictou all of her life where she worked at Hamilton's Biscuits and National Sea - Maritime Packers. After raising her family she worked at housekeeping. She was very active in the St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, and loved to dance and was a fan of Newfoundland jigs and the PEI hoedown and loved animals, especially Toby.
She is survived by six of her seven children; sons, Ritchie (Betty); Chris (Tammy); daughters, Gwen (Wayne) MacKinnon; Marjorie (Perry) O'Connell; Robyn Landry; Kathy (Sonny Herbert) all of Pictou, grandchildren, Ritchie Jr, Lisa, Tyler, Trevor, Ryan, Nicole, Justin, Jarrett, Lee, Kenneth, Maggie, Melinda, Kim and Lynn. She is also survived by a brother, Roy, Westville; sister, Dorothy Jamieson, Pictou; numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay was predeceased by a daughter Heather; brothers, Robert and Richard.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday from St. James Anglican Church, Pictou. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall.
Donations in her memory may be made to Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or a charity of your choice.
