Ella Greeno

With much sadness, the family of Ella B. Greeno, age 90, of Amherst, announce her passing on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Tatamagouche she was a daughter of the late George & Nora (Nelson) Tucker.
A school teacher for 30 years in Cumberland Co., she was a member of the Retired Teachers Assoc., as well as the Elizabeth Temple, Pythian Sisters, Miriam Rebekah Lodge, Lorneville United Church & UCW and the Trinity St. Stephens UCW, and attended the Immanual United Church. She was a singer with The Travelers Seniors Singing Group. Ella was an active volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic for many years and gave of herself physically, spiritually and financially to many organizations.
Ella will be sadly missed by 2 daughters, Marie (Donald) Green, Sackville, NB and Bonnie (Michael) Burns, Amherst, NS; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Cheryl), Sackville, NB and David Green, Fredericton, NB and Laura (Mike) Dickie, Amherst, NS and Christopher MacKenzie, Red Deer, AB; 6 great grandchildren, Mitchell and Bridget Green, Riley and Jordyn MacKenzie and Austin and Julia Dickie; and sister-in-law Grace Tait, Moncton, NB as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Layton and by brothers, Merle and Carl Tucker.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). In keeping with Ella's wishes, friends and family are invited to a time of visitation and reception at the funeral home on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 1 to 3 pm, followed by a commital service in the funeral home chapel at 3 pm. Private family burial at the Lorneville United Church Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor's choice gratefully appreciated. www.furlongjones.ca
