Ronald Mitchelmore

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ron after a long and hard-fought battle with serious health issues. He will be greatly missed by his children - Sandy and Kelly Bowers, Donna Mitchelmore, and Scott and Debbie Mitchelmore. He was a loving Papa to his grandchildren: Aerin & James Guy, Kasie & Corey Hoffman, Jennifer, Sarah & Carrie Mitchelmore, and great grandchildren Scarlet Guy, Quinn & Sara Hoffman, and Ayden & Angel Mitchelmore. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers - Gerald, Bill and Wayne, sisters-in-law - Joyce, Anne and Sharyn, many nieces and nephews and special friend, June Martin. Ron had an inspiring and optimistic perspective on life, and one of his biggest regrets was the loss of dear ones over the years, including his wife and best friend of 54 years, Betty, brothers - Harold and Bob, and many other great friends near and far. Ron was a proud Shriner, member of Saskatoon Chimos Choir, and a veteran of World War II. He loved to travel and made perhaps the best Christmas morning Caesar ever. Dad/Papa taught us many things, including a love for family and friends, and to not take anything for granted. He was a strong believer in the notion of paying it forward. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Martin's United Church. Consider donating to a charity of your choice, or to Dad's favourite charity, the Shriners' Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers. Special thanks to the warm, caring staff of St. Paul's Hospital who helped make Dad's final days comfortable. MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME entrusted with the arrangements.
