Sr. Christina McMullin, 95, died in Drummond Hall, Parkland Estates on Jan. 2, 2011.
Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Winnifred (Boutilier) McMullin. She entered the Sisters of Charity in Halifax in 1934 and made her Religious Profession in 1937. Sr. Christina's ministry was in teaching. Over a period of 34 years she taught school in Roxbury, Mass., Vancouver, Ladysmith, B.C., Dartmouth, Pospect, New Waterford and Sydney. After retiring from teaching, Sister volunteered her time with patients at home and hospital. She returned to the Mount in 1995.
She is survived by brothers, Henry MacMullin, New York, John MacMullin, Mississauga, Douglas MacMullin, Ottawa, Angus MacMullin, Florida; sisters, Barbara MacMullin, Ottawa, Martha Krystal, Regina and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister, Mary Werner and brothers, Roderick and Charles.
The body will be in Caritas Residence, visitation today (Wednesday), Jan. 5 from 3-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Chapel of Caritas Residence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
