John H. Clark passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Royal Inland Hospital with his family by his side after a long struggle with congestive heart failure.
John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Bev, his daughters: Loreen Penny of Kamloops and Natalie Gould of Edmonton; his granddaughter Rachel and grandsons: Noah and Jacob Gould, all of Edmonton. He is also survived by his sisters: Susan Nash, Chris (Jim) Jameson of Kamloops, his numerous nieces, nephews and many beloved in-laws.
John was predeceased by his parents Jack and Hilda Clark, his sons-in-law Chris Penny and Terry Gould as well as brother-in-law Len Nash.
John was born in London, England and came to Canada in 1949. He began his career with the Ministry of Highways in 1957 and retired from the Ministry in 1992.
John loved to play slow-pitch ball, curl, bowling and was a great skier on the slopes at Sun Peaks. He had a joy for camping and travelling as he saw many places from Inuvik to Newfoundland. He had taken a cruise through the Inside Passage in July.
Family and friends will fondly remember John as a quiet man with a sense of humour. He was always ready to lend a hand to others.
Special thanks to Dr. Takeuchi and the nurses in ICU who looked after John. There will be no service by John's request.
