Doris Melanson, 72, of Résidence du Marais, Dieppe, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones she loved on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born July 14, 1938 in Saint-Antoine, she was the daughter of the late Damien and Clarinda (Collette) Cormier. She is survived by her husband, Aimé Melanson; six children: Edouard "Eddy" (Irène) of Dieppe, Jimmy (Sandra) of Dryden, ON, Yvette Scott of Sackville, Léo of Thunder Bay, Suzanne Redmond (Steve) of Peace River, AB, and Paul of Moncton; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Doris was the last survivor of her immediate family and was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Clarence, Laurie, Alonzo, Willie, Anita, and Viola.
The family will receive condolences Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Anselme R.C. Church, Dieppe, on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
