It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mark Louis Abbott of Aguathuna, NL announce his passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, NL on Tuesday, June 30th at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his four daughters: Trudy (Rick) Alexander, Catherine (Ralph) Abbott-Jackson, Gwen Abbott, Bernadette Abbott; grandchildren: Crystal, Adam, & Shane Alexander, Marissa, Mitchel & Dennis Jackson, Devon & Kala Watson, Ani Brocklehurst; brothers and sisters: Harold, Ray, Jack, Annie, Georgia, Vonnie, Skip Abbott, Regina Frampton as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Gordon and Jean Abbott; w ife Vera Lillian Abbott (nee: Skeard); children Mark and Dennis Abbott; brothers and sisters: Aloysius, Betty and Robert. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Port au Port West from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Collins officiating. Cremation will take place at Humber Valley Crematorium following the service and a private family Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Berry Head, Port au Port will follow at a later date.
