CHAPERON - Ida (Sister) was born in Porsel, Switzerland, on March 20, 1929. She returned to her Lord and Saviour on January 13, 2011 in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. The prayer vigil was on January 14 and the funeral mass on January 15 from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Church in Ponteix, Saskatchewan with Father Raymond Carignan as celebrant and Father Fernande Ducharme as co-celebrant. Sister Ida entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Chambriac at Chamalières, France on November 25, 1955 and pronounced her perpetual vows on August 10, 1963. She is survived by her two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews in Switzerland as well as the members of her Congregation. In 1982, she came to Canada for the 250th anniversary of the Congregation. During that visit, she decided to stay in Canada with the Sisters of Notre Dame d'Auvergne in Ponteix. Sister Ida was a very dedicated, cheerful and grateful person. She had a great talent for knitting, inventing new patterns for the multitude of sweaters that she knitted. Sister Ida will be sadly missed by the members of her Congregation as well as all those who knew her. Lemieux Funeral Home, Ponteix, SK were entrusted with the arrangements.
