FISHER, Katelynne Alyssa "Katt" - 18, of Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Thursday, January 13, 2011, with her Mom by her side. Born September 2, 1992 in Calgary, she was the daughter of Leah Fisher (Darren Walsh), Falmouth and Roderick Fisher, Bedford. Besides her parents, Katelynne is survived by her brothers, Rod and MacKenzie; step sister, Michaela Walsh; half sisters, Tammy, Melanie, April and Brandi; maternal grandmother, Shirley (Gerard) Murphy; uncles, Allan, Matthew, Darcy, Kari and Jamie; aunts, Peggy, Michelle and Susan; numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Edison Wareham; paternal grandparents, Rod and Heather Fisher; aunt, Clara. Katt was a former student at Avon View High School in Windsor and a former member of the WFD volunteer cadet program. She worked for three years with the Windsor Recreation Department and took a special interest in the inclusion program that was offered and enjoyed working with children that had special needs. Katt also had a special interest in the deaf and she volunteered on Family Fun Days. Her plan was to pursue a career in sign language. Katt was a gifted artist and loved animals. She could bring a smile to anyone's face, with her silly demeanour, regardless of what kind of a day they were having. Katt will be most remembered for her love of music and singing. When she sang she made sure everyone heard her. Her singing also led her to be a semi finalist in the Maritime Idol competition in 2009. Foremost, Katt was a loyal friend and she held no barriers in her friendships. She was the kind of girl who accepted everyone for who they were. Arrangements were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 16. Funeral service was held 1 p.m. Monday, January 17 in Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Chapel, Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. Burial followed in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Rd., Falmouth with a reception following in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. The family would like to say a special thank you to neurosurgeon Dr. G. Pickett and the medical staff of the QEII Hospital ICU, as well as a thank you to the many extraordinary nurses who so lovingly cared for Katelynne.
