Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Center PCU, surrounded by family and friends, on January 25th, 2011, after a lengthy illness, Gordon Francis Aylward, age 76 years. Predeceased by grandson Corey Aylward, mother Alice, father Jim, brother Pius, Philip, Howard, sisters Imelda, Phyllis, Mary and Zeta, mother and father-in-law Victor and Lillian Pittman, sister-in-law Catherine and husband David Picco. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Violet (Pittman); sons: Victor (Corrine), Brian (Beverly), Gordon Jr. (Charlene); grandchildren: Gordon (Jennifer), Matthew, Mark, Brian, Victoria, Sophie and Dylan; great-granddaughter Layla; brother Jim (Mary); in-laws: Gil Robichaud, Millie and Harold Hammond, Bob and Linda Pittman and Don Dinn, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and special friends Edith Peach, Leo and Frances Reddy. Special thanks to the staff at St. Luke's Day Program and PCU at the Miller Centre and our family and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, January 29th, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Rd.
