It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Serroul on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, Aug. 18, 1953, she was the daughter of the late William and Isabel (Sutherland) Serroul.
Elizabeth was, at one time employed by the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and was most recently employed with Municipal Ready Mix. A kind and caring person Elizabeth was known for her sense of humour and love of life. An avid reader Elizabeth spent her quiet time with many good books.
Elizabeth is survived by her special friend and companion, Frank D'Angelo; daughters, Jillian 'Jill' (Dave) Chodat, Victoria, B.C., Genevieve D'Angelo, Halifax; sons, William (Danielle) Young, Edmonton, Alta., Michael D'Angelo, at home; special granddaughter, Brooke Lynn Young; sisters, Vivian (William) Russell, Ontario, Regina (Milton) Reid, Big Bras d'Or, Sharon Serroul and Linda Serroul, both of Ontario; brothers, Leo Serroul, Ontario, Lorne (Linda) Serroul, Little Bras d'Or.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister in infancy, Mary Delores.
Visitation for Elizabeth Serroul will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. in St Joseph's Church, Bras d'Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
