Roy Henry Delbeck of Moose Jaw passed away January 27, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Born June 19, 1922 at Edmonton, Alberta, Roy came to Moose Jaw as a child and attended Empire and the Technical School. Roy began working with the CPR in 1940 on the B & B. Gang. He joined the Army in 1942 and went to Normandy, France with the Second Battalion R.C.E. from Toronto, later coming home with the 14 Field Company from Regina, SK. He then returned to the CPR in 1946 and he worked as a carman, retiring in 1984. Predeceased by his sister Yvonne Cork, and brother Lloyd. He is survived by his wife Edna - Providence Place; son Ron (Gail) - Langham, SK and granddaughter Christina - Moose Jaw, SK; sister-in-law Jannie and her son Herman - BC; Edna's family: Gerald Johnson - Moose Jaw, Wilf (Dorothy) Longmore - Regina, Evelyn (Joe) Lang - Saskatoon, Randy (Mona-Maria) Steinhauer - McTaggart, SK, and Joan Steinhauer - Moose Jaw; and also several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Bob Langdon will officiate. Interment will follow at the Veterans Section, Rosedale Cemetery. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted at the Chapel by Marty Martell. Memorials to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, 268 High St.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 1S8, would be appreciated. In living memory of Roy, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
