Petrunella Kondra (nee Chubak)
January 25, 1937 - January 31, 2011
Petrunella 'Pat' Kondra, age 73 years, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011. During her short, but very intense stay at St. Paul's Hospital, Mom was surrounded by her family and caring staff of St. Paul's Hospital. Pat was born and raised on a farm near Cudworth, SK. She married our father, Peter Kondra and a 54-year marriage left a legacy of 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 1/3 great-grandchildren. Mom's loving and caring personality was the bond of our homes and families. The traditional meals and the infamous cinnamon twisters were always abundant to all that knew them. Mom was a homemaker and active member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League for the past 53 years. Mom 'Baba' took great pride in her family and her loving attention and smiling eyes will be dearly missed. Mom is survived by: SON Tom (Peggy) Kondra and their children Sharla Kondra (Shaun), their sons Grayson and Nickson, Jennifer (Keith) Ens, and Erica Kondra; SON Bob (Colleen) Kondra and their children Kristin (Steve) Shaw and Cole Kondra; DAUGHTER Joan (Dave) Stefanuk and their children Amanda (Lukas) Tumanowicz, their daughters Cierra and Alexis and Jamie (Sarah) Stefanuk; DAUGHTER Wendy (Duncan) Macdiarmid and their daughters Ashly (Brandon), Kyly (Kelli) and Haily Macdiarmid; SISTERS Ann Scherbaniuk, Alice Pawliuk, Jean Kowalenko, Johanna Bidulka, Gloria (John) Mescaniuk, Liz (Bud) Bohrson; BROTHERS Stan (Lois) Chubak and Morris (Judy) Chubak; her faithful friends Diana, Mary and her loving cat companion Peaches. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Peter in 2008, granddaughter Melissa Stefanuk, father Peter Chubak, mother Jean (Symak) Chubak, sisters Rosie in infancy, Mary Burachinski, Michelena Stus, Stella Turta and by brother Mike Chubak. Prayers for Petrunella will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. from Park Funeral Chapel (311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon). Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dormition of The Blessed Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church (120 - 105th Street West, (Sutherland) Saskatoon) with celebrant Rev. Fr. Andre Lalach. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Royal University Hospital Cancer Clinic, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4 Interment will follow in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery, Saskatoon.
