Lindsey, Mabel Kathleen of Carleton Kirk Lodge Saint John NB, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the age of 91, in the Loving Arms of her Family at the Wonderful Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Mabel was born on January 12, 1920 in London England. At the Age of three she and her parents moved to Sherbrooke, Quebec. During her life Mable has lived in many places such as La Toque, Sherbrooke and Montreal, Quebec also Sandusky, Ohio. During her later years she lived in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia and then finally in Saint John, NB. Mabel enjoyed traveling all over the world especially to Hawaii with her husband Paul, and by train to visit her son and family in Nova Scotia. Mabel was a published author as well. She has written many stories and poems about her life, her love Paul, her beloved Pee-Dee Bird and her family and friends. Mable is pre-deceased by her mother Amelia (Read), and father George Baxter. She is also predeceased by the love of her life, husband Paul Lindsey, and her long time feathered friend and budgie bird companion for 16 + years Pee-Dee Bird. Mable is survived by her son Rev. Gordon C. Simons (Jordan Ferry, NS), daughter-in-law Anne Simons (Fredericton, NB). Step-son Clifford & Liz Lindsey (Sidney, BC), step daughter Linda and Roc Gauthier (Chilliwack, BC), granddaughter Anne-Shirley & David Townsend (Sandy Point, NS) step grand son Terry & Lynn Connors (Mactaquac, NB) and step great grandson Ritchie Wagnies (Mactaquac, NB). Also Mable is survived by her many friends and loved ones in Montreal PQ, Saint John, NB and Shelburne County, NS. Grandma Lindsey loved you all so much. In keeping with Mabel's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held at this time. A graveside service will be held at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal Quebec at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to an Animal Shelter or Church of your choice would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
