It is with great sadness that the family of the late Flora Mary Pike of Port au Choix, NL, announce her passing on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Vera (Vincent), Darlene (Terry) Young, Wayne (Millicent), and Bonnie of Port au Choix, and Carl (Aileen), Pasadena; grandchildren Terrilynn, Rebecca, Alexandra, Joshua, Justin, Colby, Jessie, Jamie, Christine, and Lindsey; great-grandchild Isabella; mother Kathleen Atkins; sisters Mary, Gloria, (Calvin), Beatrice, Jackie (Keith), Cynthia (Tom), Juanita (Gerald), and Sharon (Sten); brothers George, Felix (Beverly), Myles (Vange), Lowel (Margaret), Edgar (Joan), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Mark, children Madonna, Peter, Kathleen, Barry, Blenda, father Fred, grandchildren Nicole, great-grandson Dominic. The family received friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Thursday and Friday. The funeral service took place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted, or a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
