Elizabeth Sampson, Glace Bay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the QE II Health Science Centre in Halifax on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011.
Born in Cheticamp on Nov. 28, 1932, to Adele and William Desveaux.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Martin, her children, Ivan, Carson and Paulette.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Charmaine (Lew) Palmer, Joan (Ivan) Hampton, Blenda (Robin) Whalen and sons, Leonard and Marlin. Elizabeth was a proud grandmother to Joanelle, Danielle, Tyler, Carson, Dalton, Katrina, Brittany, Zach, and great-grandmother to Ethan and Silas. She will be sadly missed by her brothers, sisters, family and friends.
Elizabeth will affectionately be remembered for her loving kindness, hospitality and generosity toward others.
She died as she lived, trusting in her God Jehovah awaiting the Bible's hope of the resurrection (John 5:28,29).
A memorial service for Elizabeth will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 257 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
