72, of Centreville, Kings County, N.S., passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Brookfield, Colchester County, he was a son of the late Leo and Ethel (Waller) Carter. He had been employed as a purchasing agent with PCL in Edmonton, Alberta. He is survived by two stepdaughters, Joanne (Ian) Drummond, Summerside, Prince Edward Island; Melda (Brian) Breneman, Edmonton; a stepson, Scot (Leah) MacDonald, Shubenacadie East; three brothers, Byard and Arthur (Frances), both of Truro; Gerry (Joan), Dartmouth; a sister-in-law, Joyce Carter, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; five step grandchildren, Sarah Drummond, Katherine Drummond (David Hodges), Rachel MacDonald, Emily MacDonald and Ian Breneman. He was predeceased by his wife, Donna Taylor (MacDonald); a sister, Barbara; two brothers, Robert and Wilfred (Whit); a sister-in-law, Joanna Carter. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Interment will take place at a later date in the family plot in Shubenacadie. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
