At the Grand Falls General Hospital, February 24, 2011, Mr. Claude Mulherin of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 77 years. He was married to the former Donna Monteith. Born at Grand Falls in 1933, he was the last surviving child of the late George and Laura (Dee) Mulherin. After a career in farming, he was the founder of Mulherin Campground which he opened in 1984 and is now operated by his son.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Ronald (Cheryl) and Peter (Francine) of Grand Falls and Jeffrey (Sonya) of Cambridge, Ontario, four grandchildren, Jordan, Jillian, Julie and John, one great granddaughter, Lauren, sisters-in-law, Loretta Mulherin, Thérèse Mulherin and Elisabeth Mulherin, all of Grand Falls, brother-in-law, Hermel Beaulieu of Rivière-Verte, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard, sisters and brothers, Melvin, Coburn, Freda, Colin, Catherine, Lloyd and another brother named Colin who died at age 7.
Resting at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. His funeral service will be held Monday, February 28th at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the Assumption Cemetery.
