Curtis White

The death of Curtis Joseph White Sr., 63, of Joggins, NS, formerly of Havelock, NB, occurred at his home on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Born in Lower Cove, NS, he was a son of the late Placide and Frances (Burbine) White.
He was a Boilermaker for 36 years for Local 73 Saint John, NB. Before that he worked with the Canadian Coast Guard and in the coal mines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Curtis loved to cook, and had a special nack for making fudge. He also had a special bond with his dog Cooper (Dad's Lad).
Curtis will be sadly missed by his wife, Lynda (Reid); two sons, Curtis Jr. and Donald (Cheryl) both of Amherst; daughter, Helen White of Dorchester, NB; stepdaughter, Latoya Reid of Toronto; two brothers, Danny and Bernie (Joyce) and three sisters, Myrna (Allie) Leamen, Ruby (Mayhue) Jackson, and Doris (Bud) Gower; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Cecil and Junior; a sister, Hazel; and a sister in law, Ruth.
Curtis' remains have been cremated under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). A time of fellowship and visitation will be held at the funeral home 2-4 pm on Friday March 4, 2011. Honoring the wishes of the family, there will be no funeral service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
