Parlee, Barbara Alma (Boss)
1940-2011
The death of Barbara Alma (Boss) Parlee, age 70 of Maccan, NS occurred at the Cumberland Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Born in Nappan, NS, Alma was the youngest daughter of Guy and Sarah (Simpson) Boss. Alma lived all of her life in Cumberland County, she was predeceased by her husband Ernest Parlee in March 2006 and three brothers; Cedric, Milton and Oral. Alma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, spending summers at the beach, bowling, darts, music and the LeafsAlma will be greatly missed by her sons Garry (Celine) Fredericton, NB; Gordon (Karna), Nappan, NS; and Ian (Cissy), Brampton, ON. Grandchildren Stephanie (Jason) Nakamura, Brent, Melissa, Leanne (Saugat) Datta, Andrew, Tyler, Mark, Jessie and Kelly and one great-grand-daughter Reiko.
She will also be sadly missed by her brothers; Darrell (Theresa); Ronald (Linda) and Ormand (Audrey) and sisters Muriel (Jim) Dares and Phyliss (Lee) Lewis.
Alma’s remains have been cremated under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) from where visitation will be held 1-2 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2011 followed immediately by a funeral service at 2 pm. Burial at a later date at the Fenwick Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating.
