Nancy Corey of Waasis, NB and formerly of Wiggins Mills, NB, passed away March 4, 2011 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1960 at Picton, ON, she was a daughter of E. Pearl (Livingston) Corey and the late Perley J. A. Corey (1929-2001). Nancy enjoyed singing and a good joke. She loved her job working with Seniors and being around people. Tantalizing was something that she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved her dogs Kelso and Bambi, who brought her many smiles. Her family were the most important people in the world to her.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Doug Salonen, Waasis; two step-children, Shae Salonen (Nick), French Lake, NB and Sean Salonen (Lisa), Fredericton; two step-grandsons, Andon Salonen, Fredericton and Tharin Theriault, French Lake; her mother Pearl Corey, Upper Caverhill; five sisters, Janet Pye (William), Upper Caverhill, Marilyn Corey, Waasis, Rhonda Wiggins (Peter), Wiggins Mills, Anita Corey (Vince), Maple Ridge and Joyce Forster (Reginald), Temperance Vale; two brothers, Murray Corey (Patricia), Nackawic and Neil Corey (Myrtle), Howland Ridge; three nieces, eleven nephews, seventeen great nieces and nephews, one aunt and several cousins.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Upper Caverhill Cemetery. A reception will then follow at the funeral home. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Nancy, the family has suggested the Louise Breau Memorial Medical Trust Fund, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
