Walter Drover, age 87 of Hodges Cove, passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on March 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, James and Selina (nee Peddle), wife, Ida, son, Raymond, son-in-law, Otto Abbott, brothers, Gorden, George and sister, Jane. Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories are his children, Selina Brown (Jim), Mildred Bishop (Jack), Alonzo (Melva), Walter Jr. (Donna), Flora Abbott (John), Roy (Maxine), Avalon (Debbie), Gregory (Shawna), and Pamela St.Croix (Paul); 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Hayward (Marie), Arch (Annie), Frank (Sandra) and a large circle of relatives and wonderful friends whom he treasured. Rested at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hodges Cove from where the funeral service, officiated officiated by Rev. Jessie Broaders and assisted by Moorley Boutcher, took place on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.
