Truleen Goodwin
AMHERST The death of Truleen Goodwin, age 90, of Amherst, occurred peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, March 6, 2011.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Greta (Chappell) Teed.
In her first position, Truleen was one of the first female bank tellers in Canada. An active member of Trinity St. Stephen's United Church, she was as well a member of the IODE. Together with her husband Walter, they were well known and loved merchants in the communities of Amherst, Sackville and Springhill.
Truleen will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, Walter Goodwin, Amherst; a daughter Patti (John Weir) Goodwin, Toronto; nephew, Eugene (Ginny) Chapman, Amherst, and her extended family in the Amherst/Tidnish area as well as in the UK. She was predeceased by a son, Terry in 2005 and a brother Norman Teed.
Truleen's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777) with visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral service will be held from Trinity St. Stephen's United Church on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2pm, Rev. Susan Estabrooks officiating. Burial in the Amherst Cemetery in the spring.
