It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our daughter, sister, aunt, niece, neighbour and friend, Margaret Sarah ‘Peggy’ MacArthur, at home on July 14, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
Peggy graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1984 and the Cape Breton Business College in 1985. Peggy was a dedicated employee of the Registry of Deeds, Sydney, for many years.
Peggy was predeceased by her father, Ronald MacArthur (April, 2009) and an infant brother, Neil.
Peggy is survived by her mother, Sally MacArthur, Sydney. She is also survived by her siblings, twin sister, Cathy (Robert) Bobbett, Arizona, Mary Elaine (John) Muise, Sydney; Alan (Debbie), Alberta; and Brian (Leslie), Sydney.
Peggy will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Katie and Janine Muise; Sarah and Adam MacArthur; Moira and Meghan MacArthur; and Jill, Jocelyn and Bradley Bobbett.
Peggy is survived by her aunts and uncles, Jack Petrie, Ontario; Teresa and Al Naugle, Dartmouth; Cleo McMahon, Sydney; Kitty Gillis, Sydney; Gen MacArthur, Sydney; Leone MacArthur, Sydney; Sister Gen MacArthur, Antigonish; Sister Helen MacArthur, Antigonish; Evelyn MacArthur, Halifax; and Bernie Steele, Halifax.
Peggy is survived by her very special angel network.
At Peggy’s request, her body has been donated to Dalhousie University for medical research. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, July 17, at Sacred Heart parish, Sydney, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Anthony O’Connor officiating. Friends are invited to the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre in Sydney immediately following the mass.
