It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert May, age 44, of Burnaby, B.C., and formerly of Gardiner Mines. Robert passed away at his residence on June 30, 2009.
Born in St. Catharines, Ont., Robbie was son of the late Vernon and Rita (MacDonald) May.
Robert was a machinist by trade and worked in manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, the former Delores Gallant; son, Robert; daughter, Nicole; his foster mother, Mary McNeil, Gardiner Mines; foster brothers, Murray, Danny, Harold, David McNeil and foster sisters, Yvonne Brewer, Joanne Kendall, Jean Lawrence and Joan McDonald.
Robbie was predeceased by his foster father, John ‘Curly’ McNeil and by his father-in-law, Luke Gallant.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held Friday, July 17, 2009, at 9 a.m. in St. James Church, Gardiner Mines, with Fr. Andrew Gillies officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
