Entered into eternal rest, after a brief illness, on Monday, July 13, 2009, Alice Cecelia Ricks (nee O’Brien). Predeceased by husbands Howard Pitts and Simon Ricks. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Joyce (Brian Skanes), Mary (John Petrie), Kelly (Clifford Flynn); sons: George (Judy Ford) and Randy (Sara Manders); grandchildren: Leah and Amanda Skanes, Alicia Petrie, Jared and Maddison Flynn, Cassandra and Samantha Pitts, Katelyn and Brent Cross, Ryan Manders. Also leaving to mourn special chosen friend, Betty Best, as well as numerous relatives and friends. At Mom’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends can visit and reminisce with family at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island, on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Church, Bell Island on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. Internment at R.C. Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to Daffodil Place.
