It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas I. Reid, 71, on Friday, March 11, 2011, at his home.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Francis and Mary (Aucoin) Reid.
Tommy was an employee of Devco for 42 years. His pastimes included Saturday night dancing, Sunday drives, fixing cars and always being there to help others.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, ‘Girlie’ (nee MacDonald); children, Francis (Cecilia), Tommy (Kim) and Lisa (Ernie) Jewells; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Winnie), Michael (Debbie) and Vernon (Linda); sisters, Vangie (Joe) and Leona (Tony).
To honour his wishes, there will be no visitation. The Celebration of Life for Tommy will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or Lung Association.
