John Lamey

John Joseph Lamey, 86, Purvis Avenue, Westville Nova Scotia passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home.
Born in McIntyre Mtn, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late William and Margaret (MacDonald) Lamey
John had a great passion for the fiddle and was a member of the Pictou County Fiddlers. He had a great love for animals and had worked for the S.P.C.A. John was also a veteran of the W.W.II He will be missed by his daughter Linda Bartholomew (Keith), Oromocto and son Donald .(Karen), Fredericton; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Sadie Golding, Thorburn; Annie Davidson, Oromocto; Margie Stewart (Grant), Stellarton and Aggie O’Brien (Bill), Pictou; brothers, Harry (Diane), Westville; Steve (Joan), Fraser Mountain; sister-in law Cookie Lamey, Springville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sons, John “Jack” and William “Bill”; grandson William Bartholomew; brothers, Alex and William and James Lamey and brothers-in law Bill Golding and Whitman Davidson.
Cremation has taken place. His family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4 pm (only) at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. A memorial service will be held 11 am Monday from the Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Evo DiPierro officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton.
