
ANGELA GAETZ

Angela Barbara Gaetz passed away with her family by her side in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the age of 82 years beloved wife of the late Roy Thome and the late George Gaetz. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Larry (Paulette) Thome, Bev Sharpe (Bill), Wanda (Terry) Vanbocquestal and Dale (Colleen) Thome. Also left to mourn her passing are her stepchildren, Marie (Grant) Traxler, Val (Bev) Gaetz, Ted Gaetz (Margaret), Bernice Seward (Badin), Laurie (Jim) Friesen and Jackie Gaetz; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Matt (Margaret) Haag and Henry Haag; two sisters, Laura (Adam) Kuntz and Sister Brigitta Haag; her step-sister, Bernetta Mastel and step-brother, Ralph (Bonnie) Gaetz as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends, especially Bernetta, Frieda and both Aunt Rose’s. Angela was born on August 30, 1928 on the family farm near Prelate, Saskatchewan to Simon and Philippine Haag where she resided until moving into the town of Prelate at young age. Angela married Roy Thome in 1947 and they moved to Moose Jaw in 1952. In 1978 mom married George Gaetz. Together they made their home in Medicine Hat and had a wonderful 20 years together. After George passed away in 1998, Mom continued to live in Medicine Hat until 2009 when she returned to Moose Jaw due to health reasons and to be closer to her family. Mom’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her. “Grandma Gaetz” will be greatly missed by all of them. Special thanks to Crescent Park Villa in Moose Jaw for the wonderful care they gave mom. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 a.m. - 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
