Born 1935 in Saint John he was the son of the late Joseph and Melanie (Guignard) Cyr. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Gladys Rowe and brother James Cyr. Besides his beloved wife Valerie of 48 years, he is survived and cherished by his son Derrick Cyr of Alberta; daughter Andrea Cyr of Saint John; grandchildren Kelsey, Kyle and Kory; chosen grandchildren Travis and Bryce Edwards; brothers Leonard Cyr (Mary-Lou) and Leo Cyr (Bertha) both of Saint John; his feline companion Tiger; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Peter worked most of his life as a mechanic and finished his career as an industrial mechanic at the Irving Oil Refinery in 1986. He had a burning passion for all cars. One of his most prized possessions was his 1969 Volkswagon Beetle, which he spent several years restoring and proudly showing as a member of the Valley Cruisers car club. A brilliant man of immense talents, Peter was the father of many inventions. He showed his love by sharing his knowledge and being at the beck and call of his loved ones to solve their crises any time of the day or night.
