It is with great sorrow the family of Angus Stephen Head announce his sudden passing after a short but courageous battle with an illness on March 18, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Leo and Josephine (Feit) Head.
Angus was a member of the former St. Agnes Church, New Waterford. He was a loving, caring family man whose greatest joy was his four children whom he loved very much. Angus enjoyed going fishing, hunting and going for long drives in the country with his family. He also looked forward to his visits with Julien Frison at the horse barn. Angus will be remembered by many as a big teddy bear who had a smile that could light up a room. He had a generous nature and would do anything for his family and others that knew him. Angus had a laugh for everyone and could brighten your day no matter what you were feeling. He was one of a kind and loved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Kearney, Scotchtown; children, Zachary, Mary, Stephen, and Joella, all of Scotchtown; sister, Theresa (Mickey) Hogan, New Waterford; nephew, Marshall. He had a special bond with uncles, James (Lisa) Fortune, Glace Bay, Joe (Greta) Fortune, New Waterford, and Ralph (Sandra) Head, New Waterford.
Angus was an amazing man and will be forever remembered by all those who loved him.
He was predeceased by parents, Leo and Josephine (Feit) Head, New Waterford.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Angus will be held Tuesday, March 22 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. A luncheon will follow at St. Leonard’s Parish Hall on Convent Street, New Waterford. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery at a later date.
