The family of Patricia Maude Lewis (nee Price) will be forever grateful for the gift of her life. Peggy passed over peacefully in her 87th year at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck, on March 18, 2011.
She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Aubrey, two brothers, sister and friends from all over the world.
She is survived by her brother, Ephraim Price of Moncton. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her family, Pamela; her sons, Ira, Jacob, Zachary and Joshua; Ira, his wife Brenda and their children Jason and Sarah; Heather, her husband John, and her children Shelby and Jared; Trish, her husband Gary, their children Kyle, Matthew and Jordan. Her grandchildren have greatly appreciated the presence of a grandmother who always saw the good in them — it was Grandma’s gift. She felt truly blessed by her sweet great-grandchildren, Cohen, Khloe, Avery and Carter. Mom was ‘Grandma’ to many close friends in the Baddeck community. Peggy dedicated her life to family in Moncton, and later in Montreal, Winnipeg, and Peterborough. As the wife of the project engineer on power installations, she created a warm home and a close-knit community around her and her family in Trinidad, Nigeria, India, Saudi Arabia, Alberta and Nova Scotia. Peggy and Aubrey were comfortable living and travelling all over the world and developed many long-lasting friendships.
A family service to celebrate of Mom’s life will be held later at the cottage in Wreck Cove, a place given to us by Mom and Dad and long held dear by the family.
We would like to thank her home care workers for their incredible support. Baddeck hospital, Dr. Chow and the nurses treated all of us with the utmost care and respect. A special thanks to Louise and Daryl, Janie and Angus, and Bev and John, for their love, support and many fine meals, always with dessert for Mom.
