ROOD, Ruth (Hue)– Passed away peacefully at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, NL on March 21, 2011, aged 92, after a long, fulfilling and happy life. Predeceased by her loving husband Rex (1996), brother Frank Hue (Marion), sister Florence (Chancey Currie), sister Grace (Bert Butt) and sister Mary (Fergie Vernon). She leaves with wonderful memories her daughter Susan and devoted son-in-law John Maunder of Pouch Cove, NL with whom she resided; sister-in-law Edith Rood, Dartmouth, NS; five nieces, three nephews, and three cousins; special friends Muriel Marshall, Clarke's Beach, NL, Phyllis and Jim Whelan, Clarke's Beach, NL, and Elsie Bowering, Coley's Point, NL; as well as many fond acquaintances. Ruth has donated her body to the Memorial University of Newfoundland School of Medicine for medical research. As per her wishes, there will be no memorial service.
