Ernest Landry

Ernest Edward Landry, 86, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Peter & Amelia (Gaudet) Landry.
Ernest worked as a Machinist for EnHeat Ltd. and was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church where he was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He served overseas in World War II. Ernest was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time at his wood lot and at his cottage with his family.
Ernest will be sadly missed by his daughters; Judy Bourque (Paul) of Moncton, Linda Rhindress (Terry) of Amherst; sons, Ernest (Ruth) of Amherst, Bill (Carolyn) of Moncton, NB, Fred (Susan), Amherst, Stephen (Juliette), Amherst; sister; Isabel "Bella" Tower, Amherst, NS; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Louise; sisters Rita, Yvonne & Agnes; brothers, Louis, George, Edgar, Clarence, Fred, Aurele and Meddie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS (667-8777) where visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Family Parish on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11 am. Burial will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery later in the spring.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
