MELVIN, Douglas Lloyd - 76, Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in the Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in St. Martins, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Harold H. and Margaret M. (Johnston) Melvin. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Goucher, Aylesford; several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews throughout Canada. Douglas had been a member of the Black Watch Regiment and was a former member of the Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department. He had been employed with Joudrey and Pulisfer before working for Polestar, from where he retired. There will be no visitation. Douglas will be remembered at a Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 4, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900).
