BOONE, Alma (nee Bambury) – August 3, 1911 - October 29, 2008. Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Home on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, Alma Boone, aged 97 years. Predeceased by husband Ern (1993) and son-in-law Hunter Oke (2005), Leaving to mourn her loving daughter Sylvia Oke; grandchildren: Karen Moores (Weldon) and Scott Oke (Brenda); great-grandchildren: Chad Oke (Leah), Aidan Moores (Sabrina), Christopher Oke (Brianne), Colette Moores and Laura Oke (Glenn); special great-great-granddaughter Ella Oke; sisters: Rena Burton and Selina Laybolt; sister-in-law Jean Boone; special niece Elaine Corning, as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s, NL, A1E 1J9, on Thursday, from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon and 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alma’s memory may be made to the Kirk Restoration Fund.
