Florence Lenius

Date de décès : 26 mai 2017

A beautiful soul found her way home on May 26, 2017. Florence Elizabeth (Zopf) Lenius passed away in Moose Jaw at the age of 94. Mom was born October 8, 1922 in Rockglen, SK to Christina and Joseph Zopf. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilf in 2009, her sisters: Irene, Bernice, Theresa, Maxine, and brothers Jack and Albert. She is survived by her children: Colleen Koller (Rick), LaVerne Lenius, Keray Lenius (Lori Jane); ten grandchildren: Kent, Justin, Krista, Joel, Michael, Amanda, Elissa, Sarah, Aaron and Blake; 16 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Chuck Livingstone, numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was also the last of her generation in the Zopf and Lenius families. Mom was a very loving and giving woman, who always put her family first. She loved the community of Rockglen, and volunteered and served for years on many organizations. Mom was a member of the CWL and was awarded her 70 year pin last year. She loved sports; in her early years she was an avid ball player, curler, and golfer, and in later years, never missed a Blue Jays game. Mom worked hard with Dad, first in Wilf’s Grocery and then with the first SGIO office in 1945. In retirement years, Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling, and socializing with friends. In 2005, Mom and Dad moved to Moose Jaw. While there, she enjoyed Warrior hockey games, singing in a choir and card games. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family, a family that celebrated every occasion together and a family held together by the unconditional love of our Mother and Father. We would like to thank the many caregivers in her last two years, especially the staff at Chez Nous and Dianne Munroe. FUNERAL MASS will be celebrated Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Rockglen. As Mom was committed to the upkeep of the cemetery, donations may be made to St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Box 351, Rockglen S0H 3R0. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.rossfuneralservice.com
