John Duff of Sechelt, BC, passed away on May 27, 2017 after a short illness. He was born on January 10, 1939 in Dundee, Scotland. He held a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK. John emigrated with his family to Canada in 1967, and worked in the mining and oil and gas industries for many years before launching a forensic engineering consultancy. In that capacity, he developed accident reconstruction courses for the RCMP and other police units in North America. John moved to Sechelt in 2003 where he enjoyed his retirement, hiking with his beloved dog Gypsy, running, participating in local theatre, playing the piano, and reading poetry. 
He will be greatly missed by his loving partner Nattanya and his family, including his former spouse Elizabeth, sons Andrew ( Claire) and Richard (Tiffany), and daughter Kate, grandchildren William, Oliver, Meg, Finn, Natalie, and Emily, and sisters Pauline and Mina.
