Passed peacefully away at home May 31st, Kenneth R. Smith RCAF retired Capt. ATC. Predeceased by his parents Douglas and Freda Smith; brother Graham of Truro N.S.; father and mother-in-law Patrick and Gertrude Fitzgerald; sister-in-law Eileen Williams; brothers-in-law Jim (Eileen), Stan, Gus, John, Ron Fitzgerald and Frank Tuff. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years Helen; dearly loved daughters Karen (Paul) Quigley and Lynn (John) Langer; special grandchildren whom he adored Ryan, Andrea and Lauren Quigley; Canine grandchildren Jakoba and Rijke; brother Arthur (Shirley) Smith of Truro N.S.; sisters-in-law Mona (Ralph) Day of Truro N.S., Joan Tuff, Margaret (George Field), Gladys (Ed) Hedderson, Marie, Edith and Eleanor Fitzgerald. Special friends Edith Peach, Bill Heiwegen, Don and Anne Pennell as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place from Mary Queen of Peace, Torbay Road on Monday, June 5 , 2017 at 10 a.m. with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road.
