It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Albert McDonald age 75, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary Site.
Born in New Waterford on February 6, 1942, Albert was the son of the late Jesse McDonald and Jimima (MacDonald) Clarke. He was a member of the Canadian Military serving with Canadian National Defense until his retirement in 1992.
Albert is survived by his son, Robert (Shelley) McDonald, Winnipeg, Manitoba; his daughter, Sherry McDonald, Edmonton, Alberta and by a number of grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Natasha McDonald; wife, Vera Beryl (Robertson) McDonald and stepfather, Francis J. Clarke. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating.
