Charles was born to Sidney and Imelda Carnell of Flower’s Cove on August 31, 1957. He was raised in Flower’s Cove and on June 18, 1977 he married Leatrice Jones. They had two children. Charles was a hardworking man who was a business man for many years in Flower’s Cove. In 1997 he and his family moved to Alberta where he worked as a salesman. He retired and returned home to Flower’s Cove in 2012 after suffering a stroke. In December of 2016 he was diagnosed with cancer. He died at home on May 28th. He was a well loved and respected man. He is survived by his wife Leatrice, his son Roy (Vania), his daughter Roxanne (Dwayne), two granddaughters Jasmine and Selina. He is also survived by his mother Imelda, sister Maggie (Harold), brother Jim (Ena), his dog Marly, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Sidney. He will be sadly missed. After cremation, visitation took place from the United Church in Flower’s Cove, from where the funeral service was held on June 1st, 2017 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton.
