Linda June McCarthy
With heavy hearts, we the family of Linda McCarthy, announce her sudden passing on June 8, 2017 while away in Halifax.
Born in Florence on June 7, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (Millar) Campbell. Linda will be forever missed by her daughter, Cathy McCarthy and son, Patrick (Jacqueline) McCarthy; grandchildren: Patrick, Max, Zoe and Zara, great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Ryleigh, Sister, Barbara (John ‘Stemmer’) MacMullin, brother, Raymond Millar, sisters-in-law Sylvia Campbell and Odille Campbell, and a special cousin, Cathy De Yo. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph McCarthy in 2015, brothers, Lorne, Thomas, William, one sister; Catherine, and one infant son, Patrick McCarthy. Linda was a loving and caring person. She was always smiling and went out of her way to make you feel welcome and special. She will be missed by all who knew her. In keeping with Linda’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Mon June 12, 2017 at Brookside Cemetery. If desired, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
