Vera Stewart
Surrounded by her loving family, Vera passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 91, at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, AB.
Born on January 14, 1926 in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia to Joseph and Annie (Sweet) Beddow, Vera was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Harry, Joseph, Aaron, William, Walter and sisters, Eliza, Eleanor, Martha, Edith, Catherine and Annette
Vera was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roderick A. Stewart in 2013. They were married for 67 years. Surviving is her only daughter, Gail Ann Chiasson and son-in-law, Fred,(Fred held a special place in Vera's heart); her adored grandchildren, Rod (Joanne), Andree, and Aimee (Darrel); and her precious great granddaughters, Courtney Chiasson, Taylor and Kendra Pidhirniak; and her step great grandchildren, Samantha and Chris Rebus; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home (south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park) on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10 a.m.
Reception following in Glenwood Reception Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Vera's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
