After a long courageous battle with cancer we the family of Donna Darlene Cormier Smith would like to announce the peaceful passing of a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister at home on June 12, 2017.
Born and raised in the shipyard area of Sydney on June 29, 1965, Donna was the daughter of Rhoda and the late Lawrence Cormier.
Donna was a loving person who gave all of her love to everyone around her and everyone who ever met her, loved her.
Her bright smile and joyfulness would light up a room. She enjoyed the simple things in life, long drives with her husband, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family.
Left to mourn, is the love of her life, Donnie, 26 years of joyful togetherness and marriage; her daughter, Melissa (Jamie); son, Christopher (Dara), and six loving grandchildren, Evan (the twinkle of Nanny's eye), Owen, Mason (Nanny's little men as she would call them), Desiree, Leela and Jamie.
Donna is also survived by her loving mother, Rhoda Cormier; brothers, Lawrence, David (Tracy), Brad (Mary); sister, Shirley (Wayne), and her husband’s family, Carol (deceased) (Lorne, her husband), Beverly (Eric), Georgina (Don), Cecil (Darlene) and Bernie.
Predeceased by her father-in-law, George L Smith, and mother-in-law, Mary T. Smith.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chants Funeral Home and there will not be a service. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.chantsfuneralhome.ca.
