It is with heavy hearts that the families of Shirley Halfyard (nee Coombs) announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Facility in Corner Brook, NL, on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Margaret (Tony) Raike, Wayne (Roxanne) Halfyard, Jim (Angela) Halfyard and Glenn Halfyard; her grandchildren: Jamie Elms (Jason Abbott), Kelley Raike (Scott Wilton), Leah (Mark) Pike, Lachelle Halfyard (Johnny), Alicia, Noah Halfyard (Emma), and Emily Halfyard; her great-grandchildren: Christopher, Madison, Alex, Billy, and Griffin: her sister Virginia Hynes, also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family. Mother was predeceased by her husband James Halfyard; her daughter Gladys Halfyard; her twins boys: Archibald, and Alfred; her parents: Gladys and Archibald Coombs: her brothers: Henry (Christanna), Cecil (Vera), Isaac (Elaine), Sam (Cicily), and Donald (Marion); her sisters Mahalla (Walter), and Caroline (Phillip) and brother-in-law Ralph Hynes. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 2 pm, at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, with the burial to follow at the family plot of the United Church Cemetery in Woody Point, NL.
