It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Nancy Elizabeth Keagan, age 58, on Monday July 10, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney on March 22, 1959, Nancy was a daughter of the late Reginald and Hattie (Dunphy) Keagan. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, attending bingo at the Pensioners Club, swimming but most of all spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her son, James Keagan; two grandchildren, Ian and Sierra, North Sydney; her sisters, Darlene (Jack) Ashford, Madonna Keagan, both of North Sydney and Patricia ‘Patsy’ Sykes, Sydney; her brother, Lloyd (Tina) Keagan, Pembroke, ON, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her companion, Ian MacDonald, and her two brothers, Ricky and Robert Keagan.
Visitation for Nancy will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
